Eurovision Song Contest 2014 - Second semi final

Australians LOVE the Eurovision Song Contest. This year, we even performed at it...which induced a multitude of cultural cringes.

As I don't have a television this year, I have been watching online, which means I miss out on the fun of chatting with others about the slightly delayed broadcast on SBS. Listening to Eurovision is not the same as watching it SBS. Get your act together for next year: live visual broadcast with Sam and Julia commentary please!

My pick to win this year's contest is Conchita. Some ask "Is it a man in a dress or a woman with a beard?" I don't really care, I just know this Austrian contestant is Eurovision's Shirley Bassey and her song could easily become a Bond theme.

Kudos to Poland for lifting the profile of their country's ... assets. This was the most tweeted about performance after Conchita's. Seems a lot of men really like watching women churn butter. Not sure why...
